VAFS Launched!
Posted by PJ Fiske on 05/18/2012
Today is a big day for all of us at Gateway. We have completed our migration to VA Financial Systems. We have now elevated the GTW experience to a new level. Pilots may begin using VAFS immediately! As part of our transition, we will keep the old bidding/dispatch systems up and running for two weeks. All pilots should have received all prior communications issued to date on the big switch. In addition, we have established a VAFS Questions forum should you need help. NOTE: We will continue to maintain our current website for the next two weeks, pending our official cutover to the new site. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ACCESS NEW SITE TO USE VAFS. Per the VAFS User Guide and Quick Reference, PIREPS are filed automatically.
Also, effective immediately, to clarify; only the following flights are permitted under the GTW callsign:
-Scheduled flights listed on the published schedule in VAFS
-Scheduled charters on the published schedule in VAFS (99xx)
A downloadable timetable is located here for your reference/print.
**Note: Pilots who wish to “tag along” with someone on a scheduled route will need to use their current pilot number with a “C” designator (i.e. GTWxxxC), then send us a PM letting us know the flight you need credit for. We’ll verify and credit based on VATAWARE. Accordingly, when flying events, pilots should also use their pilot number along with the "C" designator.
**Note: Pilots wishing to fly a non-GTW scheduled/charter route will now need to use a non-GTW callsign. Non-scheduled/charter routes will not receive GTW credit.
Lastly, to view all GTW flights currently being flown on VAFS, you can access the flight map on the VAFS website until the new site is up and running.
We still have a few pilots who have not activated their VAFS accounts. Now is the time to do so.
On behalf of all of us at GTW, we thank you for your unwavering loyalty, your commitment to our virtual airline and most of all for your patience leading up to this great day.
